ABOUT

ABOUT

Colleen Gunderson is a Wisconsin-based photographer whose work explores interconnectedness and the nuanced beauty of the natural world, suggesting a delicate balance and highlighting the poetic qualities of everyday scenes. By printing with pigment-based inks on traditional Japanese washi paper, she creates tactile, tranquil works that evoke the natural environment and its spirit of reflection and renewal. Her minimalist aesthetic encourages viewers to bring their own impressions and responses into the space.

Gunderson’s work has been exhibited in numerous regional venues, including the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, and the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay. Internationally, her photography was featured in the Awagami International Miniature Print Exhibition in Japan in 2025. In addition to her exhibitions, Gunderson has supported the arts community as a web editor for Milwaukee’s Coalition of Photographic Arts and as an advisory board member for the Riverfront Arts Center in Stevens Point. Dedicated to the restorative potential of visual art, she regularly contributes peaceful, nature-inspired works to nonprofit organizations.
